Here’s a thing that has nothing to do with football – well, a little bit, perhaps, but is worth a mention.

I wrote it for my day job at the Financial Times. It’s a top ten list of the worst celebrity endorsements of all time.

Vinnie Jones, of course, is in there for drunkenly half-killing a passenger on a Virgin flight and then threatening to have the crew murdered for trying to intervene.

This all happened, of course, after taking money off Bacardi Rum for appearing in an advert as a pleasant, amenable waiter just before signing off with a smile and the kicker ‘drink responsibly’ under his smiling mug.

Anyway, Vinnie and the rest of this motley crew – including a cigarette puffing cast of The Flinstones – are present in this Hall of Shame.
