backing england provides rare value
I am not in the habit of putting my money on England, but the sneaked win against Wales last time out has convinced me that Capello’s men have what it takes to land the odds and qualify.
Although Montenegro are second in the table, so on paper are England’s toughest fixture, I do not see them posing nearly as big a threat as Wales did at Wembley last month.
Wales may have blown their chance of qualification for next summer’s tournament but they are a team in transition – and have improved dramatically as the tournament has progressed.
They made short work of England’s opponents tonight before losing at Wembley – and that is the form line that makes me confident of an England victory.
That and their superior form on the road.
Verdict
4pts England to win at 4/5 (most bookmakers)
