mancini can mastermind an ultra italian job
napoli v man city (nov 22):
They are a confident lot in Napoli. The Italians, who currently lie in seventh in Serie A, have been talking themselves up ahead of this crucial Champions League fixture.
Perhaps buoyed by getting a draw at the City of Manchester Stadium, the Neapolitans believe that the intimidating atmosphere will be a key to unlock the most impressive team in Europe at the moment.
But it is all water off a duck’s back for City manager Roberto Mancini, who has sampled the atmosphere in the San Paolo Stadio, more times than he’s had pasta.
Napoli took advantage of a little naivety in the City ranks in their first ever Champions League match back in September, but the improvement for The Citizens has been nothing short of awe inspiring.
While a draw will be a decent result for City, they will be aware that they must get a result out of Bayern Munich in the last rubber.
They should get more than the draw here – as they have improved game by game in Europe’s top competition while devastating every team that comes their way in the Premier League.
The bookies have not been over-generous, but if you shop around there is odds against to be had.
And you won’t be able to say that about Man City that often this season.
