Because some games are better picks than others footbet has developed a guide to make it easier to understand
The way to use the points method is simple: just pick a staking plan that suits your pocket (ie. Anything from £1 up to £100 a point and stick to the point plan).
If a selection is marked "1pt" and your staking plan is £1, put a £1 on the
selection. Likewise, if your staking plan is £100 a point, stick £300 on a
3pt selection - it really is that simple.
All stats quoted on footbet will be calculated based on placing £100 on every point. That way we get a good idea about how much money we are losing.
Using the system has two advantages. First, we can keep a tally of every bet we place over a season, which will allow us to highlight any issues with the system and tweak where necessary.
Second, we can maximise profits based on what we believe to be the best value bets and collect bigger profits.
points breakdown
The points can be verbalised to give you a better idea about the thought process behind each selection:
1 point - an outside bet that will usually represent good value, but not very strongly fancied. more a hunch
2 points - better prospects that a one-pointer and has a decent chance of success, although many other people don't thinks so
3 points - I like this one. a three-pointer has value and forms a staple of a betting session's profit strategy
4 points - strong pick, often odds on that should win
5 points - moving into rarely used territory. Would be a tip that I would expect to come up and with something to spare, though I am not putting it down as a cert
6-9 points - Very, very strong prospects of winning. Usually holds some value in the price (as the vast majority of footbet's tips do).
10 and above - Very rarely used and usually indicates that the bookmakers have made a mistake in their oddsmaking and stats and history indicate a clear-cut bet
The system allows you to benefit from knowing exactly how strongly a
selection is fancied - 1pt selections will be reasonably regularly, but the
more strongly fancied selections (5-10pts) will be very rare indeed!
