Tuesday
Fixture: Steau Bucharest 3-5 Lyon
Venue: Steau (Bucharest home)
Kick-off: 7.45pm BST
Verdict: A couple of poor domestic results does not a bad team make. And let's not forget that Lyon are still sitting top of the tree in France. While their domestic form has suffered they have thrived in Europe this season, perhaps suggesting that after domestic dominance for so long, they fancy a crack at the real deal. Draw, at home against Fiorentina and away at Bayern Munich, have put them in an excellent position in the group. To take advantage of it they must beat Steau who have yet to score at home.
Betting Advice: 2pts Lyon win at 6/5 (2.2 at Betfred, VC Bet, Paddy Power and Coral)
Fixture: Fenerbahce 2-5 Arsenal
Venue: Sukru Saracoglu Stadium (Fenerbahce home)
Kick-off: 7.45pm BST
Verdict: I'm siding with Fenerbahce with a slant on the Asian Handicap because I just can't see Arsenal winning this one. Turkey is a tough place to go at the best of times, but without experience players like Kolo Toure, William Gallas and Bacary Sagna it may all be too much despite Fenerbahce's poor start to the season.
Betting Advice: 1pt Fenerbahce +0.25 on Asian Handicap at 11/10 (2.1 at Paddy Power)
Wednesday
Fixture: Atletico Madrid 1-1 Liverpool
Venue: Vicente Calderon (Madrid home)
Kick-off: 7.45pm BST
Verdict: I'm backing Liverpool to slip in the Champions League as look forward to a huge domestic fixture against Chelsea at the weekend. Both these teams have had perfect starts in this group but Madrid looked the more convincing away to Psv (3-0) and home to Marseille (2-1).
Betting Advice: 2pts Atl Madrid win at 13/8 (2.625 at Bet365 and Skybet)
