Championship
Fixture: Birmingham 1-0 C Palace
Venue: St Andrews (Birmingham home)
Kick-off: 7.45pm BST
Verdict: If Birmingham can find a way of defending the mammoth kick-outs from Crystal Palace's Argentianian stopper Julian Speroni, then this should be a cakewalk for a Birmingham side four games unbeaten.
Betting Advice: 3pts Birmingham win at 4/5 (1.8 at Blue Sq, Paddy Power and 888sport)
Fixture: Sheff United 0-0 Southampton
Venue: Bramall Lane (Sheff Utd home)
Kick-off: 7.45pm BST
Verdict: We can discount United's derby day defeat on Sunday, but we cannot ignore Southampton's appalling display in defence at home to Watford on Saturday. Playing the kids is proving Southampton's undoing this season and a midweek night at a packed Bramall Lane will be less an education and more a baptism of fire for Jan Poortvliet's foetuses.
Betting Advice: 4pts Sheff Utd win at 8/11 (1.73 Paddy Power and Skybet)
Fixture: Reading 2-1 Doncaster
Venue: Madejski Stadium (Reading home)
Kick-off: 8pm BST
Verdict: After a reasonably bright start to the season, Doncaster have plummed the depths and now find themselves where everyone expected them to be at the bottom. Their biggest woe is scoring goals (just three in nine games) and that will be the death of them at the Madejski where Reading have netted 19 games in just five games against better opposition than Doncaster.
Betting Advice: 6pts Reading win at 9/20 (1.45 at Sportingbet)
League One
Fixture: Swindon 2-1 Northampton
Venue: County Ground (Swindon home)
Kick-off: 7.45pm BST
Verdict: These two teams could be going in separate directions at the end of the season certainly Northampton are not being unreasonable eyeing promotion this season. That is their ambition, and after a slow start, they have put a run together (Last four league games: P4 W3 D1 L0 F9 A3 Pts10) that should have the rest of the division sitting up and taking notice.
Betting Advice: 3pts Northampton win at 19/10 (2.9 at Bet365)
League Two
Fixture: Accrington 2-1 Shrewsbury
Venue: The Fraser Eagle Stadium (Accrington home)
Kick-off: 7.45pm BST
Verdict: It's worth sticking with Shrewsbury to record back-to-back win in three days against one of the league's worst home records. The Shrews could go top if they win, which is my only big doubt over this game.
Betting Advice: 2pts Shrewsbury win at 15/13 (2.15 at Canbet.com)
