League Two Play-Off Final
Fixture: Gillingham v Shrewsbury
Venue: Wembley Stadium (neutral venue)
Kick-off: 3pm BST (Saturday)
Verdict: With little conviction I am going for Shrewsbury who have been incredibly frustrating all season. We tipped them at the beginning of the season for promotion and they looked like automatic candidates for much of the season, but for an appalling away record that let them down terribly. But they do have the best squad in the league and should step up for the big occasion against a Gillingham side in transition. Next year is their year.
Betting Advice: 3pts Shrewsbury to be promoted at 10/11 (1.91 at Paddy Power)
League One Play-Off Final
Fixture: Millwall 2-3 Scunthorpe
Venue: Wembley Stadium (neutral venue)
Kick-off: 1pm BST (Sunday)
Verdict: The focus is all on Millwall since their stunning victory away at Leeds a week or so ago, but I see a little gem brewing. Way back in the distant past Scunthorpe led League One and were playing, for all intense and purposes, promotion football. Now, that is a little irrelevant for the play-offs, but they have taken their blip (which coincided with a cup run to Wembley) and are now back in form. They have the knowledge of the Wembley pitch and are better man for man than Millwall, who have discipline problems and a tendency to drift in and out of games. I say a big yes to Scunthorpe returning to the Championship after just one season in League One.
Betting Advice: 5pts Scuntorpe to be promoted at Evens (2.0 at Paddy Power and Boylesports); 2pts Scunthorpe to win in 90 minutes at 2/1 (3.0 at Ladbrokes and William Hill)
Championship Play-Off Final
Fixture: Burnley v Sheffield Utd
Venue: Wembley Stadium (neutral venue)
Kick-off: 3pm BST (Monday)
Verdict: And so to the big one and this one should not be too hard. I cannot see past Sheffield United who should have gone up this season, but just missed out. They did not stutter in the play-offs and now have enough big game players to make Burnley's surprise visit to Wembley just that a visit. Burnley's only hope lies in the fact that the longer it goes on as a competition the more random the winner can be. So, along with that and the fact that footbet has already advised Sheff Utd to be promoted at 12/5, I believe United will win in 90 mins.
Betting Advice: 3pts Sheffield Utd to win in 90 mins at 13/8 (2.625 at Bet365)
