Spanish La Liga
Fixture: Real Betis 1-2 Real Madrid
Venue: Manuel Ruiz de Lopera (Real Betis home)
Kick-off: 7pm BST (Saturday)
Verdict: Although a win against downtrodden Sporting Gijon is not perhaps the greatest benchmark, Reall Madrid put down a real marker with their 7-1 win in midweek. They will go into this game against Real Betis on a real high and, though they are away, are worth a small punt at the price.
Betting Advice: 2pts Real Madrid win at 10/11 (1.91 at Paddy Power and VC Bet)
Italian Serie A
Fixture: AC Milan 1-0 Internazionale
Venue: San Siro (AC Milan home)
Kick-off: 7.30pm BST (Sunday)
Verdict: The Milan derby is always notoriously difficult to predict, but this year I think the current champions have the edge. AC Milan have been improving, and are now up to midtable after a ekeing out a midweek win against second from bottom Reggina. Inter have looked sparkling and, although their midweek win against newly promoted Lecce was a little laboured, should win this intriguing game.
Betting Advice: 1pts Inter win at 7/4 (2.75 at Bet365)
German Bundesliga
Fixture: Werder Bremen 5-4 Hoffenheim
Venue: Weserstadion (Werder home)
Kick-off: 2.30pm BST (Saturday)
Verdict: Werder proved last week that they are the team to beat this season with a 5-2 stuffing of Bayern away from home. Hoffenheim are causing quite a stir in their first season in the top flight, but this should be buying money for us.
Betting Advice: 5pts Werder Bremen win at 1/2 (1.5 at Sportingbet)
French Ligue 1
Fixture: Bordeuax 1-1 St Etienne
Venue: Stade Chaban Delmas (Bordeaux home)
Kick-off: 8pm BST (Sunday)
Verdict: Bordeaux have started well to the season and could continue their good form with a home win here. They have been excellent at home this season, which they proved two weeks ago by holding high-flying Marseille to a draw. The French league is notorious for home wins and, with St Etienne yet top register a point away from home, this should be straightforward.
Betting Advice: 2pts Bordeaux win at 17/20 (1.85 at Bet365)
