Sunday
Fixture: Aston Villa 1-0 Newcastle
Venue: Villa Park (Villa home)
Kick-off: 4pm BST
Verdict: When the dust settles on this season, perhaps the most profound moments will be boiled down to a few moments after the final whistle at Villa Park on Sunday. After that whistle, will the black and white shirts on the pitch dropped to the turf in despair - or will they be rushing over to their fans to celebrate. I fear they will drop. When all is said and done, they deserve to go: the turmoil in the boardroom sent shockwaves through the club that could not be cleared in time by the return of Alan Shearer. Newcastle are a salutary lesson to any would-be football club owner: football clubs are like ships, keep a steady course, or you'll sink.
Betting Advice: 1pt Villa win at 7/5 (2.4 at Bet365, Skybet and expekt.com)
Fixture: Fulham 0-2 Everton
Venue: Craven Cottage (Fulham home)
Kick-off: 4pm BST
Verdict: One of the many things still to be decided this season is the race for Europe and both these teams are involved in it. Everton will be looking to finish fifth, but may come up against a stubborn Fulham side who must also cement their spot in seventh. Only Chelsea have beaten Fulham in their last nine games, and the West London club are finishing strongly. Everton are finishing strongly themselves but have slipped up on occasion - and may just be happy to finish on a draw here.
Betting Advice: 1pt draw at 12/5 (3.4 at Betfred, Skybet and extrabet)
Fixture: Hull 0-1 Man Utd
Venue: KCC Stadium (Hull home)
Kick-off: 4pm BST
Verdict: Man Utd are odds against for the first time in months in the Premier League and, while I can understand why, I still think there is some value there. Hull need the win to survive, Man Utd have already won the title and have a Champions League final to prepare for. However, United will not go lightly on Hull, there is a code at stake here. And if they rest players, those in reserve will still be too good for a Hull side bereft of confidence and desperately hanging on at the bottom. I fear Hull's salvation will be at Villa Park.
Betting Advice: 2pts Man Utd to win at 7/5 (2.4 at Victor Chandler)
Fixture: Liverpool 3-1 Tottenham
Venue: Anfield (Liverpool home)
Kick-off: 4pm BST
Verdict: Without any shadow of doubt Liverpool have been the star team in the Premier League this season, and they will want to sign off by making a statement. Tottenham struggle away from home and should prove no match for the Red machine.
Betting Advice: 3pts Liverpool to win at 4/7 (1.58 at Victor Chandler)
Fixture: Wigan 1-0 Portsmouth
Venue: JJB Stadium (Wigan home)
Kick-off: 4pm BST
Verdict: Portsmouth have had an appalling end to the season and would have been relegated any other season. As it is, they are safe, which is just as well because a trip to the JJB Stadium has been a tough call for pretty much anyone this season. Our value bets of the season (Wigan) should provide one more payday for us.
Betting Advice: 1pt Wigan to win at 5/4 (2.25 at Coral)
THE NO BETS
Sunday
Arsenal are a shockingly small price to win on Sunday against Stoke. Then again, why wouldn't they win? Who can blame the bookies for dissuading us?
Res: 4-1
Blackburn against West Brom is a non-event that could go anyway. I wouldn't be surprised to see both teams place their suitcases by the side of the pitch to get a quick getaway
Res: 0-0
Man City should win this one hands down against an efficient and shockingly poor Bolton side. But we’ve been saying that all season and it hasn't got us anywhere
Res: 1-0
Sunderland need at least a point against Chelsea to stay up, and there's no guarantee they will get it
Res: 2-3
West Ham are another that should win, but with nothing to play for, Middlesbrough might get the win they need if they are to have any hope of survival
Res: 2-1
