Saturday
Fixture: Everton 1-1 Man Utd
Venue: Goodison Park (Everton home)
Kick-off: 12pm BST
Verdict: With the form Man Utd are now showing it is important that we jump on the bandwagon at every available opportunity. Away from home they are more competitively priced - particularly considering Everton have managed just one point at home this season.
Betting Advice: 4pts Man Utd to win at 4/7 (1.58 Betfred, Skybet and Ladbrokes)
Fixture: Sunderland 2-1 Newcastle
Venue: Stadium of Light (Sunderland home)
Kick-off: 12.45pm BST
Verdict: Newcastle showed some signs of fight when they went down at home to Man City, but came back for the draw. That draw does not hide the fact they have still been appalling this season - and Sunderland, though sometimes flattering to deceive, have enough to shade this one.
Betting Advice: 2pts Sunderland to win at 5/4 (2.25 at Skybet)
Fixture: West Brom 0-3 Hull
Venue: Hawthorns (WBA home)
Kick-off: 3pm BST
Verdict: While Hull have been receiving all the plaudits, an air of cockiness has descended rapidly. They are now thinking the Premiership is easy. Meanwhile, West Brom, my tips to survive the drop from the three promoted sides, have been picking points up where they have been supposed to (Fulham, Boro, Bolton, West Ham) and succumbing to the big guns. Last season WBA took the Championship by storm and beat Hull in the process.
Betting Advice: 4pts WBA to win at 13/10 (2.3 at Canbet.com and 888sport)
Fixture: Blackburn 1-1 Middlesbrough
Venue: Ewood Park (Blackburn home)
Kick-off: 5.30pm BST
Verdict: Both teams have proved far too erratic this season and are too unreliable to waste any money on. Best avoided.
Betting Advice: no bet
Sunday
Fixture: Chelsea 0-1 Liverpool
Venue: Stamford Bridge (Chelsea home)
Kick-off: 1.30pm BST
Verdict: Another danger to Chelsea's Stamford Bridge record is likely to be averted here as the Blues will prove they are the form team in the Premiership. Liverpool looked sketchy against Atletico Madrid, which will be a worry for Rafa Benitez against a Chelsea side that scored five against Boro in a game that they could have reached double figures.
Betting Advice: 3pts Chelsea to win at 10/11 (1.91 generally)
Fixture: Man City 3-0 Stoke
Venue: Eastlands (Man City home)
Kick-off: 3pm BST
Verdict: Although erratic, I back Man City to continue their excellent form at home against a Stoke side that is starting to look out of its depth in the Premiership. If it wasn't for Spurs and Newcastle, they would no doubt be bottom by now. They have, after all, only one point more than Derby had at this point last season. And we all know what happened to them…
Betting Advice: 2pts Man City to win at 1/2 (1.5 generally)
Fixture: Spurs 2-0 Bolton
Venue: White Hart Lane (Spurs home)
Kick-off: 3pm BST
Verdict: When will Spurs ever win again. There main problem has been a lack of goals, but you can pick up the occasional win if your defence holds together.
Betting Advice: no bet
Fixture: Wigan 0-4 Aston Villa
Venue: JJB Stadium (Wigan home)
Kick-off: 3pm BST
Verdict: After a game on Thursday in the Uefa Cup, a tough trip to Wigan could be a match too far for Aston Villa.
Betting Advice: no bet
Fixture: West Ham 0-2 Arsenal
Venue: Boleyn Ground (WHam home)
Kick-off: 4pm BST
Verdict: West Ham will continue to struggle this season and will stay up solely because they should be able to find three teams far worse than they are this season. Arsenal look good, they've looked good all season, but they are still managing to drop points, which has been very frustrating. This time they won't.
Betting Advice: 3pts Arsenal to win at 8/13 (1.62 generally)
Fixture: Portsmouth 1-1 Fulham
Venue: Fratton Park (Portsmouth home)
Kick-off: 5pm BST
Verdict: Fulham are another side that are failing in front of goal in what has been a dire start to the Premier League season. Three goalless draws last weekend told its own story - one of them involving Fulham at home, who have suffered three straight defeats away from home, scoring just one goal. In fact Fulham are the lowest scorers in the league, while Pompey continue to make Fratton Park a fortress.
Betting Advice: 5pts Portsmouth to win at 17/20 (1.85 at VCbet)
