Saturday
Fixture: Liverpool 2-0 Everton
Venue: Anfield (Liverpool home)
Kick-off: 12.45pm BST
Verdict: Impossible to predict, with Liverpool's strange form this season, who really knows what is likely to happen in the Merseyside derby this season. The standout bet may be the under 2.5 goal market, but the bookies have that covered. Our only value is Everton in the Asian Handicap, because I just can't see Liverpool winning this one, but Everton will find it tough.
Betting Advice: 1pt Everton +0.25 on Asian Handicap at 23/20 (2.15 at Bet365)
Fixture: Aston Villa 2-1 Sunderland
Venue: Villa Park (Villa home)
Kick-off: 3pm BST
Verdict: They may have been hamstrung in midweek by QPR in the Carling Cup (You Rs!), but don't expect anything other than a handsome win for the team that won three away games on the trot last week. They will be keen to get back to winning and Sunderland, so poor away from home normally should be a cakewalk.
Betting Advice: 5pts Villa win at 5/8 (1.625 at Canbet.com and extrabet.com)
Fixture: Fulham 1-2 West Ham
Venue: Craven Cottage (Fulham home)
Kick-off: 3pm BST
Verdict: Losing Dean Ashton to an ankle operation is a big blow for West Ham, but perhaps not as big as the £30m fine winging their way. It is the kind of thing that could derail a season - a season that has been topsy turvy. West Ham have two 100 per cent records a winning one at home, but a losing one away. But they are yet to play anyone of note this season, barring an open day win against Wigan. Fulham are a very different side to last year, and should be chalked up as strong favourites here in this London derby.
Betting Advice: 3pts Fulham win at 11/8 (2.375 at Skybet)
Fixture: Man Utd 2-0 Bolton
Venue: Old Trafford (Man Utd home)
Kick-off: 3pm BST
Verdict: Here's a standout bet: Skybet are offering 4/6 against a general 1/2 or lower on Man Utd leading against Bolton at half-time. You'll get no value on the Man Utd win (2/9 or worse), so this is worth a big punt.
Betting Advice: 5pts Man Utd to be leading at half-time at 4/6 (1.666 at Skybet)
Fixture: Middlesbrough 0-1 West Brom
Venue: Riverside Stadium (Boro home)
Kick-off: 3pm BST
Verdict: Another good price on Boro winning at home. Boro have a perfect home record, but still languish in the lower half of the table. That's a false position when you consider that their only defeats so far where against Liverpool away and a rather unlucky defeat against Sunderland last weekend. West Brom have looked OK in parts, particularly for a newly promoted side, but they are unlikely to blindside Boro who have a very good record against newly promoted sides.
Betting Advice: 3pts Boro to win at 4/5 (1.8 at Bet365, VC Bet, Bet Direct, Stan James, Canbet.com and William Hill)
Fixture: Newcastle 1-2 Blackburn
Venue: St James' Park (Newcastle home)
Kick-off: 3pm BST
Verdict: It's all going very wrong for Newcastle - and is probably about to get worse with the visit of Blackburn on a winning run. Newcastle's position in the bottom three is not false, they have been very poor this season. And they are playing like they want to be elsewhere. Blackburn will go to St James Park with the win in mind, and they might just get it.
Betting Advice: 1pt Blackburn win at 19/10 (2.9 at Canbet.com)
Fixture: Stoke 0-2 Chelsea
Venue: Britannia Stadium (Stoke home)
Kick-off: 3pm BST
Verdict: I looked at the home team to score price, because Rory Delap throw is bound to put the cat among the pigeons against Chelsea. But 4/5 just wasn't enough. In decided to hedge my bets with a jump at the over 2.5 goals market because there are two chances with that - Chelsea run riot like they did in the cup this week, or Stoke put up a fight and it's a real five-goal thriller.
Betting Advice: 3pts over 2.5 goals at 10/11 (1.909 at BlueSquare)
Fixture: Arsenal 1-2 Hull
Venue: Emirates Stadium (Arsenal home)
Kick-off: 5.30pm BST
Verdict: Arsenal most definitely have their mojo back - it's just a question how long Hull can hold out. I don't think it will be too long against a team now scoring at will for fun. They'll want to get on the scoreboard early to beat off the jitters.
Betting Advice: 2pts Arsenal to win both halves at 13/10 (2.3 at Paddy Power)
Sunday
Fixture: Portsmouth 2-0 Tottenham
Venue: Fratton Park (Portsmouth home)
Kick-off: 1pm BST
Verdict: What must be the biggest concern for Harry Redknapp's Portsmouth is the lack of goals. He's shelled out plenty on new strikers but nothing appears to be gelling up front. However, he also has big problems at the back after conceding ten goals in two games in one week. Tottenham also have problems in front of goal. Ignore the two goals they scored against Newcastle in midweek, my Grandma could score a brace against the Toon at the moment. This has defensive stalemate written all over it.
Betting Advice: 2pts 0-0 at 11/1 (11.0 at Sportingbet)
Fixture: Wigan 2-1 Man City
Venue: JJB Stadium (Wigan home)
Kick-off: 4pm BST
Verdict: Normally, I would chalk this up immediately as a home win, but Man City's 6-0 win against Pompey was so huge, I've got the jitters. That said, City's defeat to Brighton in midweek highlighted an interesting stat to watch for Mark Hughes's billionaires can they hack going to the strange corners of the British football world. I wonder what Robinho would make of Wigan?
Betting Advice: 1pts Wigan to win at 12/5 (3.4 at Skybet)
