League One
Fixture: Norwich 0-0 Walsall
Venue: Carrow Road (Norwich home)
Kick-off: 3pm BST
Verdict: There has been an amnesty at Norwich where those that had suffered behind a wall of silence at the club have now been re-released. Step forward Simon Lappin who was infamously sent to train with the kiddies after falling out with Glen Roeder. Bryan Gunn was a wet fish who should never have been given the job, but the real damage at the club was done by the poisonous Roeder. With the arrival of Paul Lambert, things are really looking up. Lambert is single-minded and ruthless and will get what is a reasonably decent squad playing together.
Meanwhile, Walsall are hoping for better this season than the annual struggle to lift themselves out of the relegation mire and into the safety of mid-table. It started well enough with a narrow win against strugglers Brighton but they have completely lost their way since then with just two draws since and a worrying three games without a goal. They haven't looked like scoring, which is the biggest concern. They have also lost twice to lower league opposition.
Betting Advice: 4pts Norwich to win at 4/6 (1.67 generally)
Fixture: Yeovil 0-1 Swindon
Venue: Huish Park (Yeovil home)
Kick-off: 3pm BST
Verdict: Yeovil are another side that have failed to win since the opening game of the season and, frankly, that home win against Tranmere can be chalked off. Tranmere as predicted have had an atrocious start. We'll be picking them to win later in the season at impressive prices, but more on that another time. Yeovil will probably go down this season. They have little of note up front, and will only survive if they put together wins in bunches. Not happening at the moment and their defence is leaky, which is a major concern.
Last season you could have had a coronary backing Swindon. They had one of the strongest teams on paper, but only survived on the penultimate weekend. This year, I guarantee, they will be pushing the play-offs. Danny Wilson is a serious manager and his insertion in January has given them play-off form ever since.
Betting Advice: 1pt Swindon to win at about 11/4 (3.77 at SBOBet)
League Two
Fixture: Port Vale 4-0 Grimsby
Venue: Vale Park (Port Vale home)
Kick-off: 3pm BST
Verdict: Port Vale have turned a considerable corner and should be winning very soon. They murdered Hereford, last weekend but only managed a draw the story of their season. What they need is an ego boost and playing Grimsby at home who took self destruction to new levels against Aldershot last weekend, ending the game with nine men.
Betting Advice: 4pts Port Vale at 1.83 (1.83 generally)
