Championship
Fixture: Sheffield United 3-3 Ipswich Town
Venue: Bramall Lane (Sheff Utd home)
Kick-off: 7.45pm BST
Verdict: Even the best teams have an off day and Sheffield United joined West Brom in enduring a bad day at the office at the weekend against nine-men Swansea. They will relish the chance to make an early amends against an Ipswich side with a manager (Roy Keane) who is beginning to doubt himself, which is usually a sign that the end is nigh.
Betting Advice: 5pts Sheff Utd to win at 8/11 (1.73 at Coral)
Fixture: Preston 1-2 Reading
Venue: Deepdale (Preston home)
Kick-off: 7.45pm BST
Verdict: It has been a great start to the season for Preston who sit in third after losing just once (away from home) in nine games this season. It has been done with a squad that remained pretty much in tact from last season's play-off semi-finalists. They remain unbeaten at home and play a Reading side bereft of confidence as they slip towards relegation. Their only win at Preston was in their promotion season in 2005. That will seem a long way away tonight.
Betting Advice: 2pts Preston to win at 10/11 (1.91 at Bet365, Skybet and Coral)
League One
Fixture: Brentford 2-1 Southend
Venue: Griffin Park (Brentford home)
Kick-off: 7.45pm BST
Verdict: After two tough games at home and away Brentford can return to winning ways here against a Southend side that are beginning to show signs that they will struggle this season.
Betting Advice: 1pt Brentford to win at 6/4 (1.8 at Coral)
Fixture: Norwich 4-0 Leyton Orient
Venue: Carrow Road (Norwich home)
Kick-off: 7.45pm BST
Verdict: That appalling start to the season is very close to being forgotten at Carrow Road, but it appears that the bookies are keeping it in the back of their mind. For Norwich to be so generously priced against an Orient side who have struggled away from home against much worse opposition than Norwich.
Betting Advice: 5pts Norwich to win at 8/11 (1.73 at Ladbrokes, Coral)
Fixture: Walsall 2-1 Huddersfield
Venue: CBanks' Stadium(Norwich home)
Kick-off: 7.45pm BST
Verdict: It has been a frustrating couple of weeks for Huddersfield who have been held to two draws at home and then promptly stuffed by a Millwall side in their one "bad day at the office" this season. That defeat Millwall was hard to bear because both Brentford and Stockport parked the bus on the Galpharm Stadium pitch rather than in the car park. No matter, Walsall who are destined for a tough relegation battle due to a lack of goals and the tendency to succumb to anyone who can score them.
Betting Advice: 2pts Huddersfield to win to nil at 11/4 (3.75 at BlueSq, Skybet, 888sport)
League Two
Fixture: Hereford 2-1 Bournemouth
Venue: Edgar Street (Hereford home)
Kick-off: 7.45pm BST
Verdict: I was quite staggered when I saw the price on Hereford in this home game. Granted, their results have been a little poor, but anyone who has watched them will agree that they are better than their results. And fair enough, they are playing the top side. But Bournemouth have a transfer embargo over them that won't allow them to buy or bring in on loan any players and they have resorted to phoning the local school to ask permission for some of their pupils to play in this match. It is one thing a 16-year-old playing in his home town on a Saturday afternoon. It is quite another to ask two to play in a strange town in darkest Herefordshire in borderlands on a school night. Worth a go on a Hereford side better than their form suggests.
Betting Advice: 1pt Hereford to win at 10/3 (4.333 at Coral)
Fixture: Northampton 3-1 Rotherham
Venue: Sixfields (Northampton home)
Kick-off: 7.45pm BST
Verdict: The games keep coming tonight in what could be a bumper night for us. Northampton are just coming off the rudderless stage of a difficult season, but they face a Rotherham side that are in form (only Bournemouth have beaten them this season) and gunning for promotion.
Betting Advice: 1pt Rotherham to win at 5/4 (2.25 at totesport)
