Italian Serie A
Fixture: Inter 2-1 Udinese
Venue: San Siro (Inter home)
Kick-off: 7pm BST (Saturday)
Verdict: It has been a tricky couple of weeks for leaders Inter who lost their unbeaten record to Sampdoria last weekend and were then held by Russian minnows Rubin Kazan in the Champions League. Patrick Vieira announcing he wants to leave the club in January at the end of the week can't have helped much, either. Inter have injury doubts to key players here and a suspension for influential full-back Maicon.
Udinese are one of my teams to watch this season and are unbeaten in three. They will not be overrun by Inter and could keep the score down they haven't conceded for 356 minutes.
Betting Advice: 3pts under 2.5 goals at 6/5 (2.2 at Bet365)
Spanish La Liga
Fixture: Sevilla 1-0 Real Madrid
Venue: Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan (Sevilla home)
Kick-off: 8pm BST (Sunday)
Verdict: An intriguing fixture in Spain as top-placed Real Madrid travel to Sevilla who lie in third. Real will be without Ronaldo, which is not a big a deal as it would have been for Man Utd last season, but Sevilla are a tough proposition at home and are worth a small shake at the generous price the bookies are offering.
Betting Advice: 1pt Sevilla to win at 14/5 (3.8 at Coral)
French Ligue 1
Fixture: Grenoble 2-3 Montpellier
Venue: Stade des Alpes (Grenoble home)
Kick-off: 6pm (Saturday)
Verdict: There is no reason to believe that Grenoble's appalling start to the season is not likely to continue on Saturday against a Montpellier side that have not looked out of place since promotion. Confidence is at such a low ebb in the Alps that Grenoble coach Mehmed Bazdarevic is firefighting: "We have worked on everything in training this week from attack to defence, with a focus on our finishing in front of goal." After seven games without a single point it seems that everything is broken for this season's favourites to go down.
Betting Advice: 2pts Montpellier to win at 13/8 (2.63 at Boylesports)
Fixture: Lens 0-2 Lyon
Venue: Stade Felix Bollaert (Lens home)
Kick-off: 8pm (Saturday)
Verdict: Lyon are back in fine form and will look to consolidate that with win in north-east France against a Lens side that had a shocker last week against lowly Le Mans. There have been denials across the club that there is no crisis despite sitting in 13th and losing 3-0 last week. Lyon last week must avoid any backlash, but if they can avoid that this should be a very easy win to keep themselves unbeaten for the season.
Betting Advice: 3pts Lyon to win at 5/6 (1.83 at totesport)
German Bundesliga
Fixture: Mainz 2-1 Hoffenheim
Venue: BayArena (Leverkusen home)
Kick-off: 2.30pm (Saturday)
Verdict: Hoffenheim are being written off in the league this year, but it is far too early for that. They are the only team involved in the battle for the title last season not bogged down by European commitments and have started well enough. They are a young club who are growing in stature and still have the ability to put sides away like Hertha Berlin last week.
Mainz have started well enough but they came crashing back down to Earth last week when Werder Bremen put three unanswered goals past them.
Betting Advice: 2pts Hoffenheim to win at 10/11 (1.91 generally)
