French Ligue 1
Fixture: Montpellier 2-1 St Etienne
Venue: Stade de la Mosson (Montpellier home)
Kick-off: 6pm BST (Sat)
Verdict: While two of the top three clubs were beaten in surprise defeats Montpellier continued to show a maturity and assurance to stifle a Grenoble fightback and take them up to third in the table above Monaco and Marseille. St Etienne are given better thrift by the bookies after they beat champions Bordeaux last week. But that was at home, this is away, this is France and so it is a home win here by a country mile.
Betting Advice: 3pts Montpellier win at 6/5 (2.2 at Bet365)
German Bundesliga
Fixture: Frankfurt 2-1 Hannover
Venue: Commerzbank Arena (Frankfurt home)
Kick-off: 2.30pm BST (Sat)
Verdict: Frankfurt continue to struggle in midfield and also have not shown any punch in front of goal this season. There is a malaise in the squad which could allow Hannover who are improving after a tough start to the campaign to take advantage.
Betting Advice: 1pt Hannover to win at 5/2 (3.5 at Stan James)
Italian Serie A
Fixture: Udinese 1-3 Atalanta
Venue: Stadio Friuli (Udinese home)
Kick-off: 2pm BST (Sun)
Verdict: Udinese can bounce back from only their second defeat of the season a last minute goal by Inter at the first attempt with this simple home tie against Atalanta.
Betting Advice: 3pts Udinese to win at 8/11 (1.73 generally)
Fixture: Parma 1-0 Siena
Venue: Ennio Tardini (Parma home)
Kick-off: 2pm BST (Sun)
Verdict: There seems to be only two certainties about the Italian Serie A this season: 1) That Leonardo will not last the season as coach of AC Milan, and 2) That Siena will not be in Serie A next season. They are truly awful this term and should give up three points to a decent enough Parma to push themselves further into the relegation equation.
Betting Advice: 3pts Parma to win at Evens (2.0 at Stan James)
Spanish La Liga
Fixture: Deportivo La Coruna 1-0 Sevilla
Venue: Estadio Riazor (Deportivo home)
Kick-off: 5pm BST (Sat)
Verdict: While AC Milan continue their appalling start to the season, Sevilla are scratching along nicely in both the league and in Europe. Just one defeat away on the opening day of the season sullies their copy book, which should return perfect from La Coruna who have not failed to succumb to the bigger sides this season.
Betting Advice: 2pt Sevilla to win at 6/5 (2.2 at Stan James)
