Tottenham 2-1 Everton
KO: 1pm (GMT)
Venue: White Hart Lane
Verdict: I think it is fair to say that the bookies have the Premier League in a vice-like grip this weekend and there is very, very little of value.
With the Carling Cup being played out on the Sunday we have only eight games, but even so...Chelsea and Man City prices are absolutely spot on, which is a real disappointment, while the bookies have priced Stoke and Arsenal correctly too.
As for the other games: Burnley should be favourites against Portsmouth, but the south coast side have gone into administration and that can do funny things to a team (look at Crystal Palace's form).
Bolton are awful as are Saturday's visitors Wolves; while Birmingham are going through a tough patch which makes me nervous of backing them against good, but erratic, Wigan.
SO, here we are at White Hart Lane, where Spurs will be expected to win this one.
But there is a steel in Everton's back line these days and it is no surprise that despite an average away form for the season on paper, they have only lost (narrowly) to Liverpool since early December.
Expect Spurs to be frustrated at home for the umpteenth time this season.
Advice: 2pts draw to win at 12/5 (3.4 generally)
Liverpool 2-1 Blackburn (HT: 2-1)
KO: 3pm (GMT)
Venue: Anfield
Verdict: We are going to be searching for ways to get on the Liverpool bandwagon all season because it is rolling downhill all the way to fourth place.
Expect them to get off early here - and just keep on going.
Advice: 3pts Liverpool to be winning at half-time and full-time at Evens (2.0 generally)
