world cup 2010 south africa

June 22 match betting

France 1-2 South Africa (3pm BST)

The more they argue, the more that the miracle of a host nation in the second phase may come to pass.
The latest in the French saga is that the country's Sports Minister has had to give the players the hairdryer treatment for bringing shame on their nation.
South Africa have a real opportunity to finish their campaign (or even reignite) their campaign against the sorriest bunch of surrender monkeys France has ever put onto a football pitch.
Tip: 1pt South Africa to win at 13/5 (3.6 at extrabet)

Mexico 0-1 Uruguay (3pm BST)

The bookies have made the draw an incredible 8/11 favourite for this match - based on the fact all both teams need is a draw to progress to the second stage.
But it doesn't work like that. The winner of Group A is almost certain to play Argentina, which doesn't bode too well for them, while the runner-up gets a game against South Korea, Nigeria, or even Greece.
Both teams will want to win this, and Mexico look the likeliest. Although Uruguay have been efficient, they looked increasingly desperate against a poor France side, and Mexico should have the wherewithal to unlock their defence.
Tip: 3pts Mexico to win at 3/1 (4.0 on Betfair, Betdaq)

Greece 0-2 Argentina (7.30pm BST)

Argentina should put paid to any outside hopes Greece had of sneaking into the second phase. Granted they were good for their 2-1 win against a woeful Nigeria - albeit down to ten men - but Argentina will show little of that cluelessness.
Tip: 4pts Argentina to win at 8/13 (1.62 generally)

Nigeria 2-2 South Korea (7.30pm BST)

Nigeria have shown absolutely no evidence that they are capable of getting the win they need to progress to the next stage of the tournament.
South Korea, meanwhile, must be ruing letting in four against Argentina, which makes them vulnerable in a game that is likely to be open and become increasingly desperate.
Ladbrokes are offering a very fair price on both teams to score, which I think will be an almost certainty.
Tip: 2pts both teams to score at 10/11 (1.91 at Ladbrokes)
